Something is defined as ‘electrical’ or ‘electric’ if it uses electricity to function, is involved with the production or transmission of electricity, or is in some other way related to electricity.
In terms of buildings, this may include electrical distribution systems, lighting, heating, automated control, operation of machines such as motors, or data transmission / telecommunications.
For more information see: Articles about electricity.
